Gaayip-Yagila Primary School offers a well-rounded Physical Education program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and maintain their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.
The program emphasises the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regular physical activity by focusing on the development of fundamental movement skills, health-related fitness, and sports education.
From Foundation to Year 2, students engage in learning Fundamental Movement Skills such as catching, kicking, throwing, and locomotor movements. For Years 3 to 6, the curriculum expands to include major sports like soccer, cricket, tennis, and basketball. All students also participate in athletics, gymnastics, and fitness units throughout the year.
